Good Sound in; Good sound out, keep it simple, keep it clean and clutter free.

That sums up what I had in mind as I was building the Kencho studio. The following is a list of what I use to paint pictures with words:

Microphones:

Sure KSM 44

Rode NT1-A

Apex 460

MXL v63m

Sure 57

Except for the Sure 57, all of the above are condenser microphones that deliver the sound I want, without me having to punch to hard. I do the voice, and they do the work. The first step is to get my voice from the mic to an ARTS TPS 11 pre-amp. Once the pre does it’s magic it’s off to an MDX 2200   processor, then to a Mackie 1402 mixing board. From there it’s on to a  Mobile Pre USB audio interface -where that analog to digital thing takes place, and finally on to the record deck, in this case, Adobe Audition audio software. Once My voice is on track it’s time to edit, produce and master while listening to the project on a pair of Mackie MR5 studio monitors. Pushing my voice and other audio elements thru the chain would not be possible without the use of Mogami  and Monster microphone and interconnect cables.
